Mary is the Founder and President of Sol. Since Sol’s inception in 2001, she has been leading the agency’s strategic vision and the clients it serves. A writer first, her favorite place in a project is deep in content, crafting a message that will resonate on any platform. Her expertise includes brand design and development, brand positioning, naming, social media, content strategy, and content development.

She thrives in collaborative moments when Sol’s team and passionate, visionary clients come together to imagine what’s next for their organization. That’s where the magic happens.

Mary is also a proud co-owner of The Reading Room in downtown Decatur, Georgia. A coffee shop and wine bar that Sol has had the privilege of branding and marketing for over two years.

Scott joined Sol as a Partner and Creative Director in 2023. Before assuming the role of Creative Director, Scott was Senior Designer and later our Design Director working with us from 2009-2017. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the design team with a focus on print design and typography. Before returning to school to receive his MFA, Scott worked as a graphic designer and communication specialist at Delta Air Lines.

Scott’s unique ability to create websites as beautiful as they are accessible is evident throughout Sol’s portfolio. His approach is straightforward: clean design creates simple, engaging user experiences. He ensures this sensibility guides every design project at Sol.

Scott earned his Master of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design. He studied communications at Emerson College and received his BA in 2000.

Kathie joined Sol in 2017 and now holds the position of Director of Technology. With a unique background rooted in design and personal brand collaborations, she seamlessly bridges the gap between client requirements and practical end results. Kathie has led transformative projects for large organizations with complex goals, such as Dexian, EmployBridge, and Columbia University’s National Center for Disaster Preparedness (NCDP), developing advanced data architecture strategies and streamlining multi-site ecosystems under unified branding.

Her leadership extends from technical direction and platform development to governance planning and SEO strategy, front and back-end web development, enhanced analytics and conversion tracking, ADA and privacy compliance, as well as application integrations. She earned a degree in Computer Information Systems with a minor in Graphic Design and a focus on Cybersecurity from Georgia State University.

Jake is a multidisciplinary creative working across graphic design, photography, videography, video and audio editing, and motion graphics. He’s been with Sol for nearly a decade — born and raised in Atlanta, and graduated from Northeastern University’s College of Arts, Media and Design. He draws inspiration from the ways people interact with urban spaces and infrastructure. Passionate about public transit design, architecture and the often-invisible infrastructure that powers cities, he infuses this curiosity into his work, ensuring that every visual asset doesn’t just look great but works harmoniously to connect meaningfully with people’s lived experiences.

Jennifer helps Sol’s clients identify the content they need to elevate their brand on and offline. Her greatest talent is taking complex content and simplifying it into concise, compelling prose.

During her time at Sol, she has contributed her skills to multiple projects in the nonprofit space, working closely with clients such as Andrus Family Fund and Sustainable Atlanta.

Jennifer joined Sol after working at traditional advertising agencies including McCann New York and JWT Atlanta. She holds a Master of Arts degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design, where she studied copywriting and was awarded several ADDYs.

Annabel is the Junior Content Creator at Sol. She received her education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Known for her sharp intellect and resourcefulness, she excels at managing social media accounts for clients and tackling content challenges with ease, bringing creativity and adaptability to the team.

Marie has been programming since 2001, starting her career in the Microsoft space where she developed primarily for the Sharepoint portal. Over the years Marie transitioned into the Open Source community, which aligned with more of her client’s needs as well as her programming acumen. Marie has been working with Sol for nearly a decade, working almost exclusively on custom web application projects. She is also an expert in server setup and AJAX.
