Shaft Fit is an application that provides optimal shaft recommendations based on a survey of individual golf preferences & tendencies.
With only the direction to make it "Sporty & Flashy", Sol took an outdated looking application and completely rebuilt it with a fresh new look and a more intuitive interface. Sol's goal for the site was to transform a trivial web survey into an ingaging tool that would be fun to use and handsome in appearance. Careful usability design allows even the least computer savvy web visitors to easily maneuver the steps. Sol's heavy use of AJAX technology provides a unique web experience that immerses the user into the application. The original search engine unfriendly, all-flash application was replaced with an HTML/text based version optimized to allow search engines to easily crawl the content. Sol's AJAX implementation also has an immediate load time, eliminating the original waiting time (30 second+) of the flash version.
The original implementation required intensive modifications to the flash movie in order to modify available shafts which could only be done by the developer. Sol's database driven backend allows the client to update the shafts as needed through a easy to use web based administrative interface. To top it all off, the site was redesigned from concept to launch in less than a month to meet a deadline for a TV spot on the Golf Channel.
