We hand painted some chucks for our friend Daren Wang to help him earn some cool points this weekend as he struts around the 4th annual Decatur Book Fest that he’s organized. The book fest is from September 4th through the 6th. If you like books you really should stop by.

Want to know how to get a book dinosaur on your chucks? Get some fabric screen printing paint and hand paint it on! Try using CMYK process inks, they are great at give you more vibrant colors than mixing RGB paints. If you need CMYK values open photo shop and look at the percentages in the color picker. Fabric is a rough surface. Paint a solid color such as white down first to smooth out your painting area to allow for crisper lines and more accurate colors. Set the paint with a hair dryer so that it has a better chance holding up to the elements.
